WizardCoder is a family of open-source code generation models developed by Microsoft Research, created by applying the Evol-Instruct technique to code instruction tuning. Evol-Instruct evolves simple coding instructions into progressively more complex problems, producing a high-quality training dataset that dramatically improves benchmark performance. WizardCoder 34B achieved state-of-the-art results on HumanEval when released, surpassing much larger closed-source models.
