SporeID identifies fungal genera from spore microscopy images by measuring dimensions, shape descriptors, septation patterns, and surface ornamentation. The tool distinguishes 620 genera across Ascomycota and Basidiomycota using a hierarchical classification pipeline trained on 185,000 validated micrographs. Spore print color and chemical spot test results can be entered as supplementary constraints to narrow ambiguous morphological matches.
